ONLINE PRIVACY AND CUSTOMER INFORMATION
American Bank respects the privacy of our customers and knows how important it is to protect the confidentiality of their information. We maintain security standards and procedures to guard against unauthorized access to customer information, and are committed to protecting information on our web sites with the same care we utilize for all American Bank transactions.
American Bank does not collect personal identifying information about visitors to our web sites. Some areas of our web sites may use a "cookie" temporarily stored in the visitor's computer memory (RAM), or stored on the visitor's computer hard drive, to allow the web server to log the pages you use within the sites and to know if you have viewed the sites before. American Bank does not store confidential or sensitive information in cookies. For certain applications, such as Online Banking, cookies are a requirement because they help protect the privacy of a customer's transactions by, for example, automatically terminating the online session if the customer forgets to log out.
Cookies are not used to capture your e-mail address, obtain data from your hard drive or gain confidential or sensitive information about you. Additionally, cookies cannot be read by a web site other than the one that sets the cookie. However, some web sites other than those of American Bank use cookies to obtain information from your browser. You can set your browser to notify you before accepting a cookie, so that you can control whether you accept or reject a cookie.
American Bank may use standard software to collect non-identifying information about our visitors, such as:
Date and time our sites were accessed
IP address (a numeric address given to servers connected to the Internet)
Web browser used
City, State, and Country
The bank uses this information to create summary statistics and to determine the level of interest in information and functions available on our sites.
Visitors may elect to provide us with personal information via e-mail, online registration forms, online surveys or our guest book. This information is used internally to handle the sender's request.
Under no circumstances is visitor or customer personal information disseminated or sold to non-affiliated third party organizations.
